About the Department
The department of Commerce was established with a vision to provide world class education to the young minds and prepare them to be self reliant by serving the society in the field of commerce. The department has been in the forefront in responding to the industry needs by swiftly devising new courses or revising the syllabi of existing courses so as to make students industry-ready.
Currently, the department offers two-year M.Com. and three -year B.Com. (Hons.) degree. The department has highly competent and efficient faculty members with diversified research interests. The classrooms are well equipped with audio-visual aids. The conceptual knowledge is ensured by conducting group discussions, case studies, role-plays, mock-interviews and other group activities.
The welfare of the students is taken care of the teachers as well as the student counsellors who interact with students for frequent feedback, problem-sharing and counselling. In addition to teaching through modern proficiencies, the seminars, workshops and guest lectures are also an integral part of academic programme of the department.
The courses lay stress on vital subjects like accounting, taxation, computer application, banking, managerial economics, business law, e-commerce, e-banking, business communication, statistics and corporate law. The faculty’s enthusiasm to impart quality education is reflected in the students’ keen interest in academics.
